Repertoire Requirement

  • The amateur and professional divisions have different repertoire requirements; the pieces prepared by the contestants must meet the requirements of their respective divisions.
  • All contestants must play from memory.
  • Contestants cannot play with audio or teacher accompaniment, except in special categories such as group 3, the Concerto Group.
  • Judges may decide to stop a contestant's performance once they reach the time limit.

Amateur Division

    • The contestants only need one piece from any style for BOTH of the preliminary and final rounds.
    • The piece used in the preliminary round can be used in the final round again.

    • For BOTH the Preliminary Round and Final Round, the Amateur Group Contestant in Group 4 - Group 8 can choose ONE to THREE pieces of different styles.
    • The total time for the Preliminary Round should be within 7 minutes.
    • The total time for the Final Round should be within 10 minutes.
    • The pieces used in the preliminary round can be used in the final round again.
    • For BOTH the Preliminary Round and Final Round, the Amateur Group Contestant in Group 9 - Group 11 can choose ONE to THREE pieces of different styles.
    • The total time for the Preliminary Round should be within 5 minutes.
    • The total time for the Final Round should be within 7 minutes.
    • The pieces used in the preliminary round can be used in the final round again.

Professional Division

    • The contestants only need one piece from any style for BOTH of the preliminary and final rounds.
    • The piece used in the preliminary round can be used in the final round again.

    • The total time for the Final Round should be within 10 minutes.
